St. Louis’ own Arvin Mitchell has hit the comedy scene running since his debut on BET’ Coming to the Stage in 2003. Mitchell’s runner-up status on the comedy reality show turned him into a household name with audiences both young and not so young. His clean style along with his hilarious impressions have made him a nit for the college circuit and corporate engagements that include the Kentucky Derby Grand Gala Reception, the St. Louis Premiere of the Longest Yard, and the Marshal Faulk Charity Extravaganza. Arvin has also starred in two gospel hit plays, “A House Divided” (Fox Theater- STL, Norfolk, Peoria) and “If They Only Knew” (Wichita, Oklahoma City).
As the former bartender and co-host of BET’s Club Comic View and host of Spring Bling 21 Questions, Arvin has attracted fans in the U.S. and abroad. His television appearances have helped him become one of the hottest comedians requested on the college circuit. Prized for writing his own material, Arvin has gone from hosting step shows, charity events, faith-based organizations to headlining comedy shows at colleges and universities across the country. In addition, Arvin has spread international laughter to Bahamas and comic relief to U.S. Soldier in Stuggart, Germany.
Arvin’s comedic style appeals to both urban and mainstream audiences worldwide. His comedic gift has reserved him the right to participate in the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and showcased for a final audition for the Just For Laughs Montreal Comedy Festival. He continues to home his craft by working the comedy club circuit including “A “ and “B” rooms in New York and Los Angeles that include Comic Strip Live, Boston Comedy Club, Irvine Improv Room, The Laugh Factory, and The Comedy Store.
Arvin Mitchell continues to entertain across generational and cultural lines while advancing his goals to be amongst the greatest stand up comedians of our time.
